Crucible of Force coming soon
We are working on the WWII module for Fields of Fire which will cover 1938-1943. We are expecting a release later this year if everything goes well, kickstarters permitting.

What kinds of tanks from WW II would you like to see from this period in WWII? What kinds of special rules?

Why not go all they way to 1945?

I'm going to hazard a guess that many WW2 gamers want to play D-Day to the fall of the Reich, so 1943 is just a bit too early.

RE: Crucible of Force coming soon
The intent is to cover the period from '38-'45 in two supplements. We decided to break at '43 because that was basically when the war had shifted and the Allies were beginning to curtail and reverse the Axis advances. The Axis had been booted from North Africa and the Russian campaign was taking a turn for the worse.
For those that are interested in D-Day, most of the information for vehicle types present in that area will already be a part of the '38-'43 data presented in this supplement. For some of the vehicles, the points will change between supplements as some of the newer vehicles become more plentiful as the war progresses, and older models phase out.
Among the gamers we have talked to, there has not been a strong preference for early, mid, or late war. Also, the later war equipment will start to approach capabilities that would register on the modern rules' combat table, albeit at the lower end.

RE: Crucible of Force coming soon
I will be setting up play test sessions in the Central Ohio area during October and November. And aim to have a beta version of the charts available for review in the near term.
