Spotting
Some questions regarding the spotting step in direct fire shooting sequence:

A. If an enemy vehicle is spotted by a potential firer, is that target then also spotted for the rest of the firing team (i.e. another on the firing team would not suffer the Snap Shot penalty)?

B1. If an enemy vehicle is spotted by a potential firer, and the target moves (and stays) out of LoS, does the firer have to re-spot the target in a future phase/turn to not suffer the Snap Shot penalties?

B2. What if the target moved out of LoS but then re-appeared in the same phase (i.e. the target moved from one side of a building to another)?

RE: Spotting
A) If each individual vehicle is in the correct range band and physically able to see the target then it is "spotted" If they are farther away and fall on a different range band on the chart then you will have to reference that information to see if the target can be spotted by the individual. Also, if there is physical blockage between the target and the spotter, even if the spotter is in the same unit, the target would not be spotted. They would have communication that there was something up ahead but no "eyes" on the target.

B1) Yes, the next phase you would have to re-spot the target. Snap shots would apply. (future modules may include an advanced rule to take into account targeting computers found on some of the more advanced vehicles).

B2) In this case the target would remain acquired. You would have been able to follow the target's path and extrapolate its location when it reaches it new location, but only if it ends in a position physically visible by the spotter, otherwise B1 would apply.

RE: Spotting
Are all enemies that enter spotting distance and LOS spotted or can a tank only spot one tank per turn?

For example a platoon of 4 T72s drive into view of a single Chieftan. Does the Chieftain spot all 4 T72s or does it designate one T72 that it is spotting?

Thanks!

The way I see it, the Chieftain can possibly see all the T72s if they meet the Spotting/LOS requirements, but can ONLY designate one T72 to Target per phase. PM sent!

RE: Spotting
If a tank is spotted, its seen by everyone. Its expected that enemy locations would be communicated to everyone. Our spotting doesn't work like it does in other games. Basicly if your in range and meet the requirements your going to be spotted. Its not spotted by just one tank or squad but rather its spotted by everyone in range.
